Candy Adelaide Herrmann!

Meet Candy Adelaide,

the Queen of Candy Magic Land!  Isn't she cute?!  I love her sweet face and her Fred Flintstone figure!  You may already know that Adelaide got her start in magic by marrying a super successful magical star named Alexander Herrmann, and toured with him as his super talented assistant and dancer until his death.   She carried on his show with his nephew Leon for three years after that, and then went solo and starred in her own wildly successful show for thirty more years, not stopping until age 75!   She was a great lady and a beauty right to the end!  But personally what impresses me most about her is that according to magic historian Milbourne Christopher, she had been about to marry an actor but wisely decided against a marriage to someone in show business.  I'm not quite sure what she was thinking when she and mega-star Alexander were married by the Mayor of New York in 1875, but her thoughts probably weren't repeatable when right in the middle of the ceremony, Alexander pulled a roll of dollar bills out of the mayor's beard!  I was once at a wedding and my friend pulled a baked potato out of her pocket, but that's about the closest I've ever gotten to a wedding miracle.  I mean, a baked potato?  I know throwing rice at a newly wed couple is traditional, but throwing a potato is just taking things too far.
